Showcasing The Magic of Colour – Ten Years of Experimentation between Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby and Mutina

Domus is excited to present a colourful exhibit of vibrant tile designs created by Barber & Osgerby, celebrating a decade of creativity – featuring new range Time

New Range: Time

The Magic of Colour conveys the spirit of experimentation, playfulness, and authenticity that defines the artistic partnership. The installation features a new collection, Time, plus fresh pastel-toned colour additions to the historic range, Mews

Conceived to commemorate a decade of creative collaboration with Mutina, the new collection Time presents a soothingly tactile, richly coloured range of small format, modular shaped, through-body porcelain tiles – representing the beauty of weathered surfaces formed over time.

A rich and varied tonal palette draws inspiration from the geology, geography and landscape of different locales around the globe – including Etna Black, Dakota Grey, Dover White, Salta Red, Highland Green, Virginia Blue, Sahara Sand, and Atlas Brown – achieved through the infusion of inks, into the ceramic bodies via a water “washing” process.

Two finish options present ‘smooth’ and ‘rough’ surface textures, inviting an exploration of texture through touch. Three modular size formats allow the creation of infinite design layouts by combining colours, shapes, and surface finish. View Time

Learn more at our design talk with Jay Osgerby on Thursday, May 23rd, at 1 pm as he discusses Barber & Osgerby's journey into the realms of tile design with journalist Becky Sunshine. He will discuss where they look for inspiration, creative processes and practices, and how they continue to push the boundaries of innovation.
