Going eco with recycled paper & cardboard samples packaging
Here at Domus, we are continually looking at our business procedures to ensure a minimal impact on the environment. Since the start of 2020, Domus’ sample packaging has become fully eco-friendly as we have banished the use of plastic bubble wrap and tape at our warehouse in West Molesey, Surrey.
100% recycled
Domus send out over 120,000 samples every year in thousands of deliveries. All are now packed in 100% recycled cardboard and paper, which is 100% recyclable.
Recyclable tape
Even the paper tape used to secure sample packages is 100% recyclable. Unlike traditional plastic tape, the paper parcel tape with its natural rubber adhesive can simply remain on any packaging sent for recycling.

Domus Group invests hundreds of thousands of pounds in its sample service every year. A dedicated team of ten full-time staff wrap, pack and deliver over 2500 samples every week free of charge. We store over 300,000 sample pieces and full-size sample tiles in our warehouse in Surrey, with a wet cutting, drying and packing facility, ensuring samples are sent out quickly and arrive safely.
Samples delivered free & fast
All samples ordered online are delivered free of charge and, if ordered before noon, will arrive the next working day.
More sustainable initiatives
Domus’ new eco-friendly samples packaging is just one of the many sustainability initiatives underway. Others include:

Recycling unused tiles for conversion into F6S aggregate for industrial foundations or road use.

Re-using or recycling all wood pallets. All unusable pallets get sent to the local authorised bio-fuel depot – never to landfill.

Domus transportation is certified FORS silver standard.

Converting all forklift trucks to electric or eco-fuels.

Partnering with ceramic factories that conform or exceed ISO 9001 and 14001 standards, which includes reducing energy consumption, using more renewable energy, recycling industrial water, reducing pre and post-production waste.

Providing ceramic products that are made of recycled pre-production raw materials to meet BREEAM and SKA A-ratings.

Supplying sustainably certified engineered wood and laminate flooring.

Supplying recyclable, phthalate-free and VOC-free LVT flooring.

Converting all showrooms to low wattage LED lighting.

Separating all office waste to meet local authority waste collection standards to minimise landfill waste.
