Regional expansion strategy & new Creative Director
We are pleased to advise the Architecture & Design community and our industry partners of some important business updates. Q4 2021 heralds a regional expansion strategy for Domus, bringing together a new cohort of industry professionals in tandem with inspirational showrooms, to complement our leading London operation. Our first move has been to increase our regional presence by recruiting industry expertise across the UK, stretching from the South Coast to the Midlands, the North and Scotland.
This includes the appointment of Mark Williams, who joins us as Creative Director. With a unique blend of architectural and interior design experience within the tile industry, he will provide Domus with a new brand vision and strategy for our expanding national business.
Our new senior management & regional industry professionals are:
In light of the favourable market conditions in the London residential sector, we have also appointed two senior professionals to support our valued Interior Design customer base:
Domus Birmingham – Opening late 2021
To bolster our teams' activities, we have acquired a 4,400 sq ft space in Birmingham's St Pauls district, an area that is fast becoming an established design hub in central England. With over 40 architectural and design practices within a square mile, St Pauls is the perfect location for Domus to establish its first-ever showroom outside London and the South East.
Domus has teamed up with Birmingham's influential developer, Stuart Holt of Javelin Block, who leads the preservation and renovation of many of the city's industrial heritage buildings. One of these is Derwent Works on Henrietta Street, a former Victorian metal pressing facility and a renowned boxing club and gym that will be refurbished into our new home in the city.
The Domus team are designing an inspirational materials gallery within this impressive industrial space, showcasing our most innovative and advanced design-led tile, wood and engineered flooring collections – due to open later this year.
Domus Clerkenwell – New showroom now open
Set back behind the 1930s industrial warehouse buildings that dominate the grid of streets around Great Sutton Street, the showroom occupies an old annexe building which the Domus team has transformed into a contemporary, creative space with the addition of a first floor plus two outdoor terraces. The original single-storey structure has been modified into two spacious floors to become an innovative, progressive space that seeks to better serve our clients' needs in the post-pandemic era.
Inspired by the style of old dispensaries, it offers a comprehensive reference library of materials along with a photography booth open to all, with our client's project requirements at the forefront of the new showroom design concept.
Please do come and see us in our new home in Clerkenwell to meet with the sales team and discuss your project requirements.
